In 1967, with the help of local man Jack Gurteen, a group of Pine Rivers State High School students, who enjoyed kicking a ball around at lunch, organised a game against Redcliffe City U14 team at Redcliffe. Pine RIvers won 5-3 and a club was born. The current clubhouse was built in 1978.
Pine Rivers Football Club came about through a merger of Pine Rivers United Sports club (the legacy football license holder and clubhouse lessee) and Pine Rivers Athletic Football Club, which was created by MBRC and awarded the football license in 2017 by Football Brisbane. PRFC is a 'not for profit' club, run by members, providing the local community opportunities: to participate in a healthy lifestyle; to develop sporting skills and social networks; and to compete and excel athletically all within a safe, supportive and respectful environment.
